Reducing wrinkles
Wrinkles are caused by several factors. Some of these we can influence, for example our lifestyle, but others, such as ageing, are more difficult to change.
What types of wrinkles exist?
Active (dynamic)

Also called mimic wrinkles, these are the result of the contraction of muscles in the face. We can see these wrinkles on our forehead or around our eyes. Botulinum toxin is used to reduce this type of wrinkles.
- botulinum toxin deactivates the muscle group responsible for forming wrinkles
- younger clients (30 – 50) whose mimic wrinkles are beginning to form are a suitable group for the application of Botulinum toxin

Passive (static)

They are the result of repeated contractions of muscle groups in the face, leading to a remoulding of the collagen in the skin and subcutis
This results in permanent, deep wrinkles present even without muscle activity. The application of Botulinum toxin alone does not bring a satisfactory result for this type of wrinkles. It is best to combine the application of Botulinum toxin and implant fillers.
- the main ingredient is hyaluronic acid
- hyaluronic acid is a natural part of the skin
- implant fillers are used to reduce nasal and mouth wrinkles and wrinkles around the mouth
- they are also used to increase lip volume

Wrinkle reduction
We can use two different treatment methods for reducing wrinkles: the application of Botulinum toxin or the use of implant fillers.
For an optimum effect, it is possible to combine these procedures.
BOTULINUM TOXIN

The application of Botulinum toxum is currently a relatively frequent treatment for reducing socalled “dynamic wrinkles”.
Botulinum toxin blocks the transmission of nerve impulses into the subcutaneous muscles.
The wrinkles are thus smoothed out and become smaller. After application, the effect is visible within 3 to 5 days and lasts for 3 to 6 months. It is proven that the repeated application of Botulinum toxin prolongs its effect.
Botulinum toxin reduces :
- horizontal forehead wrinkles
- wrinkles between the eyebrows
- crow’s feet
- wrinkles under the eyes
- wrinkles around the mouth
- chin folds
- horizontálne vrásky čela
- vrásky medzi obočím
- vejarovité vrásky
- vrásky pod očami
- kútiky úst
- záhyb na brade

IMPLANT FILLERS

A popular procedure in corrective dermatology is the implantation of filler material. At present, highly-purified synthetic hyaluronic acid is used most frequently. Hyaluronic acid is a substance found in the body; its application is safe and side effects are very rare.
The procedure’s effect lasts for several months. In our centre, we use hyaluronic acid in the form of Juvéderm® and Teosyal treatments.
WE USE WRINKLE FILLERS FOR :
- reducing medium deep and deep, permanent wrinkles around the eyes, nose and mouth
- filling out lips and highlighting lip contours
- filling out cheeks

HOW IS IT APPLIED?
BOTULINUM TOXIN
Botulinum toxin is applied diluted in low doses using a thin needle into the muscle (the injections can hardly be felt), thus relaxing the muscle as required.
The procedure itself is very simple and short, lasting only a few minutes.
The number of injections depends on the site where the Botulinum toxin is being applied; usually, 3 or 4 injections are made in each place, with the exception of the forehead, where there are usually 5 to 7 injections.
After the injections, a slight swelling or redness may appear for a few minutes, or a small bruise which can be concealed with make-up corrector and will disappear within a few days.
FILLER MATERIALS
The gel is applied using a fine needle into the skin, which can be slightly painful, which is why the procedure is performed following local desensitisation of the skin with a cream.
After the procedure, redness and swelling may occur in the place of application for several hours. Since hyaluronic acid is a substance found in the body, no allergy test is required.
The small bruises usually disappear within 3 to 5 days. The client goes home straight after the procedure and can use make-up corrector to conceal any redness or bruises.
